U.S Announces Extension of Advance Data Pilot

As announced by U.S CBP, the Air Cargo Advance Screening (ACAS) Pilot Program is now extending through 26 July, 2015 and reopening of application for new ACAS pilot participants through 26 September, 2014.  Currently, ACAS ( a joint CBP/TSA regime) is the only fully operational pilot, it was set to expire this month.

ACAS is a voluntary pilot program for participants to transmit a subset of mandatory advance electronic information for air cargo. The required advance information for air cargo is used to target high-risk air cargo, hence, the data must be submitted at the earliest point practicable prior to loading of the cargo onto the aircraft destined to or transiting through the United States.
