The SMe-Plug JumpStart Program Introduction Forum was held in Hong Kong on 17 March 2015.
Funded by the Transport and Housing Bureau and Hong Kong Logistics Development Council (LOGSCOUNCIL), the SMe-Plug JumpStart Program provides financial assistance for SMEs to install the SMe-Plug software, with the aim to encourage wider adoption of e-logistics in data processing so as to increase the competitiveness for the Hong Kong logistics community.
The SMe-Plug is developed by The Hong Kong R&D Centre for Logistics and Supply Chain Management Enabling Technologies (LSCM), and will be implemented by the Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC), the secretariat of the Program.
The SMe-Plug is developed as a ‘connector’ allowing logistics companies to connect with multiple e-services platforms such as EzyCargoTM to adopt e-Freight practices.
The Introduction Forum introduced to the members of the Logistics Association and enterprises of the logistics industry the details of the Program, and Global Logistics System (GLS) was invited to introduce EzyCargoTM, the community platform already connected with over 10,000 freight forwarders worldwide, 63 global airlines and the three cargo terminals in Hong Kong.
“GLS is very supportive to the Program and has been working closely with LSCM in developing the integration between EzyCargoTM and SMe-Plug” said Mr. Terry Lo, CEO of GLS. “EzyCargoTM has been serving the local freight forwarders providing a one-stop platform with multiple connections to their airline partners and cargo terminals. The SMe-Plug JumpStart Program will allow more SME forwarders the capability to connect EzyCargoTM through the use of the SMe-Plug software, and in moving towards e-Freight that could improve operations efficiency and data quality.”
As a support to the SMe-Plug JumpStart Program, GLS is looking to offer a special promotion on the EzyCargoTM “e-AWB Plan” subscription.
